What is the Space Race?
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has partnered with the Center for Advancing Innovation (CAI) to create space technology spin-offs leveraging their new license -“Startup NASA” - a new free license for commercial use of NASA’s patented technologies.
When will it Start?
The Space Race has a tentative start date of January 19th, 2016. More information on our full schedule can be seen below

What can you do from now to Launch?
- Read all the information available on our website: Be sure to ask for program general overview and rules of the Challenge
- Choose an Invention Category: Look at the categories of inventions below that you might be interested in and learn more about them on the NASA portfolio website. Inventions that will be selected will be those that leverage manufacturing skills. Examples of categories of NASA inventions that require manufacturing are outlined below.

PLEASE NOTE Team Mandatory Requirements: You must have the following skill sets on the team: business, legal, invention specific experience (advanced manufacturing), and also a serial entrepreneur must be on every team. You may want to investigate the following resources: Your alumni network, your University and service providers such as law firms
