BOTS BEFORE BOOTs

Throughout more than sixty years of space exploration robots have been paving the way for future manned missions. They can go where no human is able to go and explore even further in space. They really play a leading role in space exploration history.

At KSCIA, we love Rovers and our students have a chance to meet and learn about robots in space. Below you can get to know some of our educational rovers designed by engineers and space experts and inspired by real Rovers that are now exploring other planets.

K – ROVER

Designed and assembled inside the Space Life Sciences Lab at Exploration Park – Cape Canaveral.

The K-Rover was born as a new concept of Educational Rovers with a futuristic design and prepared to face different kinds of surfaces, even the hardest ones.

With a structure made by steal and fiber glass it has an Arduino Board as it’s brain and can be controlled from distance using a Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth connection.

AR – V1

The AR–V1 Rover was developed exclusively for “The Asteroid Mission Program” inspired by some real Rovers used to explore the surface of Mars and even asteroids.

With 4 motorized wheels and independent suspension the AR-V1 manages to overcome craters and rocks as well as face challenges on the asteroid surface mockup.

The body is made up of 3D printed parts and it has an Arduino board as it’s brain and a Wi-Fi camera. The Rover can be controlled from distance using a Wi-Fi network.

The Explorer Rover

The Explorer Rover is a brand-new generation of Educational Rovers designed by KSCIA International Space Academy team of experts.

This Rover carries several embedded technology such as WiFi camera, color and distance sensors. Mixing 3D printed parts with a steal body this rover is controlled by a mini-computer called Raspberry-Pi. This technology is nowadays used in different experiments inside the International Space Station.

Students selected to travel to USA and attend “The International Journey of Science & technology” have a chance to learn about space robots and closely get to know this amazing robot and learn how to control it from anywhere.
KSCIA is a private educational organization not affiliated with the US federal government.
