Jefferson Michaelis is the Chairman of The Michaelis Foundation for Global Education and serves as the Senior Advisor for KSCIA International Space Academy’s global youth STEM programs.
As Senior Advisor to KSCIA, Michaelis is instrumental in developing innovative STEM and space education projects in collaboration with key organizations in the United States. His efforts promote groundbreaking global opportunities in the space industry.
Michaelis has an extensive background in international business and development, holding numerous leadership roles, including:
● Member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce (1999–2000), International Committee of 100, and the Tampa Bay International Business Council (1998–2001).
● Member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Global Initiatives Committee (2008–2009).
.● Board member of the World Trade Center Tampa Bay (2011).
● Member of the Brazilian American Development Commission (2013).
● Board member of the Brazil Space Coast International Development Agency (2014).
● Advisor to the Space Coast Technology Council (2014).
● Leader of the BFCC Tech Mentoring Program in Brazil (2015).
● Executive Program Coordinator for the Modeling and Simulation Experience (SEE) (2017-Present).
Since 2019, Michaelis has collaborated with the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) and New Space organizations to foster space industry partnerships between Brazil and the United States. In the same year, Jefferson and his wife were honored with NASA's Alumni Award for their contributions to America’s space program.
Currently, Michaelis supports innovative STEM and Space Education initiatives globally. He leads the international expansion and outreach efforts for KSCIA, Science Days and the Global Thinking Initiative.
Jefferson Michaelis strongly believes that accelerating global youth vocational STEM and space education through project-based learning (PBL) experiences can drive economic and social progress, fostering collaboration between nations.
